Yellow-Stripe (YS) - Tell us , how can you manage to keep your excelent way to mix all the time and always in different sets, do you practice a lot?
A.M.C.(AMC) - Yes I do practice a lot and in the last 4 years my practicing has changed a lot. I have incorporated a different way of practicing thats really working well but thats my secret lol.

YS - We know that you have recently start producing tell us what can we expect from your productions?
AMC - Well to be honest I have been producing on and off for the last 3 years. I started out on Fruity Loops and since then i have been changing programs and operating systems a lot. Its only in the last year that i have found the right ones to suit me best. I now use a mac and logic and its really working well. My style of production varies alot because of my love for all spectrums of drum and bass.

YS - Why A.M.C?
AMC - Ha ha i get this a lot and its always slightly embarrassing to say because it was really a no brainer. I use the dj name A.M.C because it is my real name, A.lex M.ark C.alvert.

YS - What´s your favorite style of drum and bass for mixing?
AMC - I love playing all types of drum and bass because each type is special in its own way. However if i had to pick one type i would pick the sort of renegade hardware type of drum and bass.

YS – How as it was your entry for Drum and Bass Arena?
AMC – It was 2 years ago now that I was working as a sound engineer at a audio equipment company called Kam. I over herd one day that DNBArena were coming to the offices so I obviously had my latest mix cds ready to hand over. They came in I gave them over and I think they listened to them on the way back to there HQ. After that I received a phone call and the rest is history (lol how cheesy does that sound)

YS – Do you have a different method of mixing in DnbTv that you have in Parties?
AMC – No there is no difference apart from when I dj at a rave I try to read the crowd where as when Im on dnbtv i play what i think will go down best.

YS – What are your biggest influences?
AMC – Its always a massive clichŽ when I answer this question but from a young age I always looked up to Andy C, Randall, Friction and Hype. Just the way they could work a crowd into a frenzy was always so appealing to me and i used to stand in a rave thinking 'thats what I want to do'. It wasnt just there perception of crowds that grabbed my attention it was also the way they mixed the tunes into each other that always blew me away. From the production sort of side tho my influences are Noisia, S.P.Y and any others that make heavy drum and bass.

YS – Who is the producers/djs of the moment for you?
AMC – Djs would be Andy C, Friction, Noize, Dj Fu, Ed Rush & Optical plus more. There is also a dj in Belgium that smashes it every time i see him but ive never seen him over in the uk which is a shame and he goes by the name of Murdock. Producers..... well there are so many that i really think are great. To name a few.. Subterra, S.P.Y, Brookes Bros, Netsky, Serial Killers, Lomax, Xample, Audio, Raiden, Anile, DBR, Crystal Clear, Loxy and of corse Noisia plus more. There are also loads of great new producers out there that are working there way through which is really great to see and some of there production is brilliant.

YS – What is your top 5 tunes of ever?
AMC – WOW thats a hard one... Ok i think..
• Block Control – Noisia
• Messiah – Konflict
• The Code – All Mixes
• Dark Stranger – Origin Unknown Remix
• Planet Dust – Bad Company

YS – And your top 5 tunes of the moment?
AMC –
• Full Metal Jacket – S.P.Y.
• I refuse – Netsky
• Control Freak – Audio
• Deception – Noisia
• So Much Take VIP – A.M.C.
There are just to many to mention. Im sure I will read this in the future and think 'dam i forgot etc'

YS – What are your projects for the future?
AMC – Well there are loads. First is to perfect my production skills and then get some tracks out there. Set up a successful DNB label for up and coming producers and established ones, carry on with DNBArena and then travel the world djing. Plus more but I cant think of at the moment.

YS – Which was your favorite gig?
AMC – There has been so many.I would say its between 5. The first time i went over to Sofia In Bulgaria, Dj Murdocks Rampage night in Belgium, RBT in Belgium, DNBtv live @ East Village, Masterplan.

YS – Vinyl or CD?
AMC - I use both when i dj but If i could I would get all my tracks on cd cut on to vinyl. I love vinyl more than any other format. Just the feeling of owning a track on vinyl is very special. Every time i get new vinyl sent to my house waking up to it in the morning is like that feeling of waking up on xmas day as a kid.Not just that but the smell of freshly cut vinyl is just great.

YS – What can we expect from your set on the New Years Eve in Portugal?
AMC – As you can expect from every gig of mine, absolute mayhem from start to finish, but for Portugal its gona be even more mayhem. :)

YS – Leave a message for the portuguese crowd?
AMC - I seriously cant wait to come and play in Portugal as it has been one of the places I have always wanted to play since talking to other artists that have played there already. Massive thanks to the guys @ Yellow Script and I quote Casablanca when i say 'I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship'.
BIG UP!
